General

The "Logistics Engineering and Management (LEM)" Master course follows on from a Bachelor degree or other higher education diploma in logistics or a related subject. On this basis, students obtain a deeper knowledge of logistical issues as well as of management topics in an international context. In addition, students learn specialist skills and methods which reflect the very latest scientific state of the art. LEM qualifies its students for applied research activities and places special emphasis on an intensive transfer of knowledge and technology between university and enterprises. Graduates of the Master course hold the qualifications necessary for a subsequent doctorate.

Key features are:

- 2-years full-time course with a high level of practical content

- Qualification as Master of Science (M.Sc.)

- Limited to 40 places per year

- Teaching languages are German (60%) and English (40%)

- Practical projects in the fourth term

Bachelor / Master Course of Study

The degree course Transport Engineering / Logistics  was replaced by the Bachelor course of studies in autumn 2006. A student now graduates with the degree„Bachelor of Engineering“. The studies can be continued with the Master course of studies „Logistics Engineering and Management“ with the degree „Master of Science“.

We about ourselves (only German version)

The course of studies Transport Engineering / Logistics has existed since 1976 at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Bremerhaven). It is continuously adapted to the industrial requirements and uses state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. The combination of all these factors contribute to the attractiveness of this modern  course of studies

The course of studies “Diplom” Transport Engineering / Logistics (formerly Transport Engineering) was established in 1976 and was offered for the last time in the Winter Semester 2005/06. The graduation can be achieved after 8 semesters with the degree  „Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur (FH)“. Approximately 2500 graduates have graduated and found employment in the industry so far.

Curricula

The modules of the first three semesters contain the most important professional issues of various interdisciplinary aspects of logistics. The master thesis are to be the prepared in the 4th semester. This can be combined with a research and investigation project in the industry in Germany or abroad.
