The course of studies Transport Engineering / Logistics (Studiengang Transportwesen / Logistik TWL) is designed to meet the fast changing requirements of logistics . A graduate of the course of studies should be able to unite the experts of various fields of activity to obtain the best solution in order to provide the right goods in the right quantity in the right place, at the right time and in the right quality. The curriculum of the course of studies follows the fast changes in technology, information processing and organisation in all fields of logistics.
The degree course Transport Engineering / Logistics was replaced by the Bachelor course of studies in autumn 2006. A student now graduates with the degree„Bachelor of Engineering“. The studies can be continued with the Master course of studies „Logistics Engineering and Management“ with the degree „Master of Science“.
The course of studies Transport Engineering / Logistics has existed since 1976 at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Bremerhaven). It is continuously adapted to the industrial requirements and uses state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. The combination of all these factors contribute to the attractiveness of this modern course of studies
The course of studies “Diplom” Transport Engineering / Logistics (formerly Transport Engineering) was established in 1976 and was offered for the last time in the Winter Semester 2005/06. The graduation can be achieved after 8 semesters with the degree „Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur (FH)“. Approximately 2500 graduates have graduated and found employment in the industry so far.
The first two semesters focus on the basics of logistics. Deeper insight into logistics processes is the subject of the following semesters. In the last semester (6th) students get the opportunity to participate in industrial placements. Alternatively the students can participate in a practical project at the university.
The modules of the first three semesters contain the most important professional issues of various interdisciplinary aspects of logistics. The master thesis are to be the prepared in the 4th semester. This can be combined with a research and investigation project in the industry in Germany or abroad.
