The course of studies Transport Engineering / Logistics “Diplom” was replaced by the Bachelor course of studies  in autumn  2006. A student graduates with the degree „Bachelor of Engineering“. The studies can be continued with the Master course of studies „Logistics Engineering and Management“ with the degree „Master of Science“.

Preconditions for registration
General university maturity, university of applied sciences maturity or acknowledged equal education status

The applicants for the course of studies who do not have any practice oriented education should serve an industrial placement according to the Industrial Placement Regulations of the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Bremerhaven).

Foreign applicants have to obey registration preconditions according to the German national regulations (KMK-Richtlinien); documentation about German and English language skills have to be presented (TestDaF or DSH).

Language of instruction

Approximately 20% of teaching  is in English, the rest in German.

The methods, techniques and skills which are vital for a professional qualification are taught through interdisciplinary shaped modules.

The Bachelor course of studies at the university consists of  6 semesters presence. The first two semesters focus on the basics of logistics, the following three semesters are designed to provide the students with professional skills and the last semester can be used to serve a placement in an industrial envirnoment in order to experience up-to-date methods and techniques. Optionally the last semester may be used to solve a practice project at the university.

This practical part of the studies is an integrated, in its contents defined and monitored  part of the education. The requirements for the practical part are stated in the Examination and Industrial Placement Regulations.

The Bachelor course of studies is tailored to have a duration of 6 semesters . Generally the modules amount to  4 hour per week per semester (HWS).

There are 35 modules which are generally credited  with 5 credit points (ECTS). Each semester amounts to 30 credit points. The overall number of credit points of the Bachelor course of studies is  180.
